ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that cases had been registered against the anti-state elements involved in the attacks on media houses in Karachi.
Stern action would be taken against the attackers and those using derogatory language against the country, he said.
“We are enjoying good relations with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and accept its political mandate but action would be taken against the attackers of media houses,” Murad said.
The chief minister said that MQM’s workers were incited by their party leader to attack on media houses and create anarchy in the metropolitan city. Women who used abusive language against the country were identified through video footage, he added.
He strongly condemned the attacks on media houses and said the police and Rangers controlled the situation after the violent incident occurred. The provincial government was monitoring the situation to avoid any untoward incident, he added.
Murad assured that the government would take every step to protect the lives and property of the people of Sindh as it was determined to completely eliminate terrorism from the province.
