PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly lawmakers on Friday condemned the Afghans harassment in KP and demanded that Afghans living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be send to Afghanistan with dignity and respect.
During the session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, parliamentary leader of Awami National Party Sardar Hussain Babak said that Afghans were living for more than three decades in Pakistan but for the last three months security forces were raided on their homes and there harassment cases were on the peak in Peshawar.
He further said that on the both sides of the border uncertainty and terrorism remains, adding that some elements want to separate and create differences among both the Pakhtun living in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He informed that on both the countries 99% Pakhtuns were killed in terrorism incidents, adding that as Pakistan well come in the past to Afghans such like behavior should be shows while they were send to their country. He said that security forces should take concrete steps to eliminate terrorism in the country, adding that in the past we did mistakes and we should accept that entire mistake and a clear policy should be presented to eliminate militancy and terrorism from the country.
He added that Afghans living in Peshawar were compelled to sell their property on very low price as they were compel to leave Pakistan because of the everyday harassment from the police.
Opposition leader in the provincial assembly Maulana Lutf-ur-Rahman said that because of strict visa policy most of the Afghans were now going to India for treatment.
He added that India offer Afghan patients as they were charge only Rs 20.000 while medicines and other facilities in hospital for them were free.
Opposition leader added that because of the harassment of Afghans they were now going to India for treatment which also affected our economy and most of the private hospitals were facing economic constrains.
On the occasion Speaker Asad Qaiser said that he had met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Afghans Counselor General and directed the IGP that harassment cases of Afghans should be ended.
He also constituted a parliamentary committee consists of opposition and treasury benches to discuss the issue of Afghans and taking steps to ended harassment cases with Afghan citizen.
Meanwhile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly passed Limitation (Amendment) Bill 2016 while The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prohibition of Interest on private loan bill 2016 was passed anonymously from the assembly.
The bill was moved by Fakhr-e-Azam, Mahmood Jan, Sultan Muhammad Khan and Azaz ul Mulk Afkari. On the occasion while discussing the interest loan bills lawmakers appreciate the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa speakers and government for passing the bill.
They said that because of the interest loans business in private sector was on the peak in KP and most of the people were made defaulter.
